Joseph Davis

Joseph Davis (Joe Willie) Lead Guitar, Rhythm Guitar, Slide guitar, lap steel guitar, mandolin and some keyboards. Influences: The Beatles, Hendrix, Clapton, Mark Knopfler, B.B. King, The Allman Bros, The Neville Bros, Carlos Santana, Ry Cooder, Dave Lindley, Brad Paisley, Danny Gatton and way too many more. Has played guitar professionally for over 35 years. Started out in the music business as a lighting technician for a local band "Magic Kitchen" who featured a young upcoming guitar hot shot, Steve Gaines who went on to international fame as a guitarist/songwriter with Skynyrd and died in the ill-fated plane crash along with his sister Cassie Gaines and lead singer Ronnie VanZandt. I also did light shows for other touring acts such as Badfinger, Vanilla Fudge, Strawberry Alarm Clock, Tommy James and others. I spent much time learning guitar techniques in the living rooms of good friends and local guitar masters like Steve Gaines, the late Ace Moreland,  Gary Hutchinson (Oreo Blue), Johnny Rose, John Moss and a host of others often sharing the stage with them on occasion. Starting out playing the standard rock genre's, I shifted my interests to mainly Blues and funk in the 80's and have played across the 4-state region and beyond. I've played the legendary Caines Ballroom in Tulsa, The Brickyard Blues Festival in Oklahoma City, The International Blues Competition in Memphis, The King Biscuit Flour Hour in Helena, AR as well as a host of clubs and concerts throughout the midwest.

I'm currently playing guitar with two bands at present. I'm lead guitarist/co-song writer and arranger with progressive country artist Sarah Dunn, a very young and talented singer/writer and fiddle player who was recently featured on national TV on the Great American Country Network (GAC) and also has appeared in Branson and now I'm fulfilling another long time dream playing with a killer 10 piece horn band as lead guitarist with LaFuSo.

I'm also a professional graphic artist. I'm still doing the promotional art and advertising for the 4 Amigos and the Texas Guitar Shows after 26 years. You can see my full page ad work in Vintage Guitar Magazine. I've also done numerous freelance graphics for national accounts such as Fender Guitars, Butterball Turkey, Jimmy Dean Sausage and many more.
